"Equal pay for equal work!" Really? Does that sound familiar? Equal treatment is goal number 5 of the UN's 17 global sustainability goals and has always been an integral part of discussions about justice. "Pro Quote Film" presented Claudia Roth with the current facts on the gender equality imbalance at the Berlinale. The traffic light coalition is putting the issue of "gender asterisks" on the domestic political agenda, while foreign policy and the energy transition dominate the news - with images from the Munich Security Conference in the de facto masculine.
Diverse teams function better, deliver more productive results and ensure a healthy atmosphere in the workplace. The Berlinale is setting an example with a high proportion of women on the festival's stages. There is largely no trace of this in German broadcasting networks and media groups. Why is that?
Virtual film production is certainly one of the biggest changes that film production has ever experienced. Not only are pretty much all known and imaginable parameters being re-established - filmmaking itself is changing fundamentally. Technically speaking, two genres are merging in virtual film production: games and films. Only with the help of powerful game engines, which use their special frameworks to control the game and ensure the special visual representation of the game's progression, can the latest LED technologies now enable virtual film productions with real-time rendering, i.e. without any delay. With our new Ensider:Partner , ICT AG , we are joining this new type of film production.
Despite the high incidence rates, more and more events are taking place in real life. This is good news, especially for our industry, where networking supports access to work and skilled workers. During the pandemic in particular, we have discovered the advantages of digital solutions that many people no longer want to do without. Fast, flexible, non-binding, inexpensive and convenient - this is how we want to continue to expand our offerings.
Only expectations can be disappointed. If you take this piece of wisdom to heart, the new year will be exciting and promising, as long as we keep our own expectations under control. After all, during the crisis, cinema has rediscovered a format that is suitable for audiences with the new " 150s ". Almost the entire industry has agreed on sustainability with the " Green Motion " initiative. Various qualification offers, in particular the " study programs for production management ", are systematically addressing the shortage of skilled workers. Financial policy ESG criteria support good corporate governance and sustainability through clear rules for access to capital. The networking events that are so important for the industry have clear rules and established digital alternatives. The contract market is booming. And with a negative test, you can stroll into 2022 in a good mood.
And what happens next? Will streaming services continue to be the clear winners of the pandemic? What will happen to cinemas, festivals and, of course, large and small film productions? Will the new year bring new hope or will everything stay the same? The fact is that further Corona restrictions for cinemas are likely - and the fact that cinemas will have to close again cannot be ruled out. But it is also a fact that the film industry, with all the creative people behind every single project, is naturally innovative and creative and can rise to every challenge and perhaps draw new strength and inspiration from them.
